Starting in the spring of 2024, I have been affiliated with the Geoscience Department at Buffalo State University as an adjunct lecturer. On top of teaching and advising responsibilities, I also support the department by giving demonstrations for students from Buffalo Public Schools. Most recently, I gave a demonstration of sediment transport processes using the department's wave tank and sediment flume.

During my doctorate I was a coach for Science Olympiad at Madison West High School and Hamilton Middle School. During weekly meetings I engage with students to review physical oceanography, marine biology, and the Earth's climate. Their knowledge is tested at regional competitions, where my team has consistently been competitive. Most of my material comes from college level coursework, which I've adapted for Olympiad.
While at Cincinnati I led the Boy Scout Geology Merit Badge challenge, meeting with scouts to provide an overview of general geological concepts. I implemented exercises designed to gauge the scouts' knowledge of Earth Science and judged whether the results were up to national standards set by the Boy Scouts of America.

Leading a field trip in central Colorado
At times where my research has intersected local geology, I've tried to share findings and context with both scientific and lay communities by leading field trips. This has included a scientific tour of historic dinosaur quarries in the vicinity of Canon City, Colorado and an overview of iron rich strata around Clinton, New York.
